Ten New Year’s Resolutions for Congress by Ron Paul

Since New Year’s is traditionally a time for resolutions, and since the new Congress convenes this week, I thought I would suggest some New Year’s resolutions for Congress: 1)  Bring the troops home — Congress should take the first, and most important, step toward ending our hyper-interventionist foreign policy by bringing our troops home and closing all overseas military facilities. The American people can no longer afford to bear the cost of empire. 2)  Pass the Audit the Fed bill — The American people deserve to know the entire truth about how the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy benefits big-spending politicians and financial elites while harming average Americans. 3)  Repeal the PATRIOT Act and rein in the National Security Agency — It is approaching two years since Edward Snowden revealed the extent of the NSA’s unconstitutional spying. Yet Congress still refuses to put a leash on the surveillance state. Congress should take the first step to...

Paul supporters turn out in force

The line to shake Ron Paul’s hand snaked down one hallway, up a flight of stairs, looped around a corner and down the length of another hall. It was early Saturday morning at the Minnesota Republican Party state convention and the Republican presidential candidate was giving some time back to the delegates and volunteers who had helped push his agenda – and his favored U.S. Senate candidate – to the forefront of the convention. “You’ve selected our candidate for Senate,” Paul told a crowd at a $20-a-plate fundraiser that raised at least $12,000 for the cash-strapped state GOP. “I think you’re doing a great job.” Paul supporters are hoping to fill the Minnesota delegation to the national Republican convention with as many like-minded Paul backers as possible. Paul, who has suspended active campaigning, but still hopes to shape the debate at the convention, cheered the state’s efforts. “I think this is one of the greatest states that I have witnessed, where I have seen t...

Ron Paul speaks at UCLA - Draws over 7000 people

LOS ANGELES , April 5, 2012 — Ron Paul spoke at UCLA last night, and several thousand people showed up to create a scene that made Beatlemania seem tame. No one would have guessed that this man is trailing in all the presidential race polls. From an event standpoint, the speech at UCLA was a complete success. Dr. Paul knows how to galvanize people. But during his fifty-or so minute speech, not one minute was spent talking about the presidential race, which leads to a very important question that must be asked. If Dr. Paul can inspire such large, passionate crowds to hear him speak, why has he never won a single presidential contest? The lines were like those at a rock concert, stretching for long blocks of the campus to enter the Straus Stadium at the Los Angeles Tennis Center (LATC) where Dr. Paul was speaking. The campaign promoted the event as a Town Hall, not a campaign rally. Read more: Here

Ron Paul Wins the Backing of a Major Evangelical Leader

Kevin Derby's blog | Posted: January 12, 2012 11:53 AM As the race for the Republican presidential nomination heads to South Carolina, with its high concentration of military families and evangelical Christians, those voters will increasingly be the focus of the GOP hopefuls. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas was able to score points with both of those key groups in an endorsement he received on Thursday from evangelical leader Rev. James Linzey, the president and founder of the Military Bible Association. The association helps military chaplains, provides Bibles to the military community and offers translations of the Bible. "Having thoroughly examined your political philosophy and finding that your platform is 100 percent in line with the Constitution of the United States of America, and examining your political record to find that you have consistently upheld the Constitution and thereby faithfully represented your constituency, and studying your statement of faith to find t...

Ron Paul Campaign To Everyone But Mitt: Drop Out and Unite!

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire—Rep. Ron Paul's campaign called on the rest of the Republican field to drop out of the race and unite behind him in order to defeat Mitt Romney. “We urge Ron Paul’s opponents who have been unsuccessfully trying to be the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney to unite by getting out of the race and uniting behind Paul’s candidacy,” campaign chair Jesse Benton said in a statement. Read the full statement below: LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Ron Paul tonight scored an historic second-place victory in the 2012 New Hampshire Primary. Below please find comments from National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton: “Ron Paul tonight had an incredibly strong second-place finish in New Hampshire and has stunned the national media and political establishment. “When added to Paul’s top-tier showing in Iowa, it’s clear he is the sole Republican candidate who can take on and defeat both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. “The race is becoming more clearly a two-man ...

Ron Paul Leads Obama Among Independents

Paul only candidate in GOP field to best the President LAKE JACKSON, Texas  - In a new  Public Policy Poll , 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul bests President Obama 48 to 39 percent among independent voters. The poll also showed Paul as the only Republican candidate leading President Obama among independents. “This is yet another poll that clearly shows how competitive Ron Paul is against the sitting President,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.  “Dr. Paul is making strides not just among Republicans, but independent voters as well. This broad base of increasing support proves that the American people are looking for conviction instead of the typical status quo rhetoric being offered by establishment candidates.” These results follow an earlier  Bloomberg News poll  showing Paul in a statistical first place finish in Iowa, a key early voting state.  Furthermore, a late October  CNN/Time poll  s...
